NEW COURSE! Embodied Ministry in a Hybrid World

In 2020, whether you were ready or not, you were quickly launched into ministering in virtual space. Over the course of the year, your congregations worshiped in person, then strictly online, then in a hybrid space, then back online. This yo-yo effect of changing circumstances has scarcely left time for you to reflect with any depth on the place of virtual ministry in your congregation’s future.

As we come to the next turning point in the congregational journey, how do we faithfully assess our way forward?  What vision will you set for the future as an intentional leader in a hybrid world? Bringing in theories of change management, organizational leadership, and the Digital Literacies for Ministry, the cohort will process real world implications and plans for your faith community.

This six-week limited enrollment course will explore the hybrid world of embodied ministry. Course facilitators, Stacy Williams-Duncan and Sarah Stonesifer Boylan, will help participants examine what elements of digital ministry to keep, what to let go, and what to transform into a hybrid offering. 

Weekly themes include: 

• Grappling with a different context and horizon
• Change management with a spiritual grounding 
• The Digital Literacies for Ministry
• Seeing the Hybrid Future
• With a vision of the future: Change, Hybrid, and Literacies
• Implementing in your context 

The goal of the course is to help you faithfully lead with your full, embodied self in virtual space. 

This course begins on April 13 and includes:

• weekly 90-minute synchronous gathering with course facilitators, Stacy Williams-Duncan and Sarah Stonesifer Boylan 
• asynchronous pieces on our digital learning platform (optional 1 hour per week)

The six Zoom gatherings will be held on Tuesdays from 3:00-4:30 p.m. (CDT), from April 13 through May 18.
