Lake Institute on Faith and Giving
The Lake Institute on Faith & Giving, part of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, “fosters a deeper understanding of the dynamic relationship between faith and giving, through research, education, and public conversation.” The Lake Institute offers learning opportunities for faith leaders and congregations on generosity and giving and convenes a community of practice to support and empower those leaders in change and transformation
In 2020 and 2021, the Lake Institute and Learning Forte collaborated to successfully transition the existing curriculum for the Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising (ECRF), which had been delivered as an in-person, week-long, intensive workshop into a hybrid, digital offering, through several iterations and different learning platforms. Because the Lake Institute desired its own learning management system (LMS) to create and deliver online and hybrid courses and build a learning community, Learning ForTE facilitated the evaluation of learning management systems (LMS) for the Lake Institute so that future courses could be offered through their own platform. By the end of 2020, the Lake Institute had selected a learning platform and began delivering courses in January 2021.
With the learning platform in place and exceptional courses and curriculum, the Lake Institute team has continued to innovate and iterate, as well as nurture their learning community of practice. Learning ForTE is excited to watch the Lake Institute grow and flourish with online and hybrid teaching and learning!
